Infonet UK Launches New Network Reporting Service for the BoardroomLondon, UK, 15th January 2003 - Infonet UK Ltd today announced the launch of Arena, a network reporting service that will provide non-IT executives with enhanced visibility of business applications usage and performance across their company's network. Designed to provide board level business intelligence on global enterprise infrastructure and application investment, Arena is currently available to targeted UK clients. Arena, which is underpinned by NetworkVantage technology from application software vendor, Compuware Corporation, gives statistical information and a regional breakdown of how applications are performing across an entire IT infrastructure. Through the delivery of detailed reports that pinpoint individual application usage within different regions, Infonet can provide corporations with meaningful business metrics on their IT infrastructure and software applications. Arena is specifically intended to meet the needs of multinationals and to make network performance information more accessible to CEOs, IT directors and other non-technical executives. This approach supports an escalating realisation by the boardroom that transparency of today's application-defined network is essential in helping them to see whether they're realising a true return on their technology investment. Infonet UK has traditionally offered its clients a range of reports to help them analyse their network usage. To date, these were based on general utilisation trends of their network infrastructure in terms of volumes of data traffic, which enabled clients to make predictions on when increased capacity would be required. Arena will provide additional insight into what extent applications are being utilised on the network, thereby facilitating more informed decision-making concerning future infrastructure investment. Infonet's account teams will provide clients with regular network performance updates, which are supported with business process recommendations. In an effort to realise maximum benefit from business-critical applications, cultural changes may be advised such as additional training on software or a change in e-mail or Internet usage. John Gillam, Technical Manager for Infonet UK, explains: "In support of Infonet's ongoing application-defined network (ADN) approach, Arena is designed to address our clients' network issues from more than just a technology perspective. With an understanding of our clients' business drivers coupled with our experience of networking technologies, these reports deliver more than just statistics. This strategic approach demonstrates that Infonet is committed to helping its clients invest in technology that will truly add value to their business."
