Compuware and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Agree Five-Year Deal Compuware solutions awarded 'preferred' statusLondon, 15 March 2001 - Compuware and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young today announced a five-year supplier deal that will see many of Compuware's product offerings adopted by the leading consulting firm as 'preferred solutions'.Core to the alliance will be Compuware's application performance management solutions. The Vantage suite will enable Cap Gemini Ernst & Young project teams to ensure that business critical applications are meeting performance levels and that Service Level Agreements are set realistically and then achieved. Initially, the decision to standardise on Compuware solutions will be focused around three areas of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young operations: the SAP Competency Centre, Service Excellence and Network Infrastructure Services. According to Rose Clegg, Regional Director at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, the SAP Competency Centre is already realising the benefits of the move: "Using Compuware tools can save our teams as much as 30 per cent in man hours when working on ERP-related projects while at the same time increasing the level of service to our customers." Steve Jobson, Managing Director at Compuware UK commented: "The real winners from this deal are the customers - by focusing in on Compuware solutions, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young will be able to enhance their existing expertise in building, integrating and deploying both traditional applications and e-commerce applications. The solutions are focused on increasing and measuring customer satisfaction while at the same time reducing costs and time to market." Ray Murrell, Divisional Director at Cap Gemini Ernst and Young added "This takes the relationship between the two organisations from one of a project supplier to a comprehensive five year relationship." Cap Gemini Ernst and Young decided to consolidate the number of software vendors it deals with in order to help it better manage its software portfolio and alleviate the pressures to constantly evaluate new software. The deal is the latest contract for Compuware's new 'Alternate Channels Group', which is tasked with identifying new channel opportunities.
