FREE WHITE PAPER: Compuware Solutions Facilitate Data
Privacy Compliance in the Application Testing Environment
Organisations are under pressure to comply with recent data privacy legislation,
which is proving to be more difficult than many envisioned. To help wade
through the complexities of protecting your sensitive data in test, Compuware
has worked with Hurwitz and Associates to prepare a customer benefit report
that describes the issues surrounding data privacy requirements in the
test environment and provides best practices for addressing these challenges.
The paper includes a four-phase implementation strategy that, when combined
with Compuware's products, will assist companies in streamlining the process
of creating and maintaining test data environments to reduce risk and
comply with data privacy legislation. In addition, read how one company
is simplifying the process of securing their test data while meeting legislation
compliance.

TIPS AND TECHNIQUES: Xpediter - Other Ways to Control
Program Execution
Ever wonder if there were other ways to control program execution than
just using the F9 (GO 1) or F12 (GO) keys? Here are a few commands you
may not be familiar with:
- To get Xpediter to execute a specified number of statements
and then stop your test:
Command: GO n Example: GO 10
- To be able to watch as each statement is executed, use the TRACE
command to force Xpediter to pause between statements:
Command: GO n TRACE Example: GO 10 TRACE
*Note: The length of the pause between statements can be adjusted:
Command: SET DELAY n.n Example: SET DELAY 1.5
- To run your entire program with the TRACE functionality turned
on, regardless of the "GO" command used:
Command: TRACE ALL STATE MAX n Example: TRACE ALL STATE MAX 1000
- From this point, you can initiate the GO or GO n commands and a pause
will automatically be inserted between statements.
- To interrupt the TRACE function at any point during the execution
of your test, just hit the Attention Key.
* Note: To remove the "auto" TRACE feature from your test:
Command: DELETE TRACE
